The Michelin Guide's review
City Hall stands on the corner of Chief Albert Luthuli Road and Church Street. This superb red brick monument, whose 47m-tall tower looks like a Baroque version of Big Ben, is said to be the largest brick building in the southern hemisphere. It dates from 1893, but was rebuilt in 1902 after a fire. Inside, the hall of ceremonies contains one of the finest organs in the country.
