The Michelin Guide's review
Three masterpieces will make a visit to the municipal museums of Piacenza worthwhile: a grandiose cycle of frescoes painted by S. Ricci and G. Draghi, The Splendours of the Farnese, detailing the exploits of mercenary general Alessandro Farnese and Pope Paul III; a reproduction bronze Etruscan diviner; and an art gallery with works from Emilia, Lombardy and Liguria, amongst which a Virgin worshipping the Infant with St John by Botticelli. An Automobile museum and Risorgimento museum complete the tour.
