The Michelin Guide's review
Excavations carried out in the middle of the 20C revealed the existence of the site of Ban Chiang, which has been dated back to 6 000 BC. In addition to human remains, the necropolis uncovered also contained numerous ceramic and bronze objects (tools, weapons etc), providing evidence of the early use of this metal made from tin and copper in the area. Note also the finesse of the pottery here and its ornamentation. It's worth extending your visit to include the Ban Chiang National Museum, which displays the majority of items discovered during the archaeological digs.
