The Michelin Guide's review
The Cambodia National Museum houses over 2,000 major works of art from all over the country, dating from Prehistory to the 19C, including statues, sculpted lintels, headstones and bronze figurines. Art from the Angkorian period, from the 9C-13C forms the heart of what are recognised as the country's most beautiful collections. Even the building housing the museum, a modern and stylised version of a traditional Khmer temple, pays homage to this fabulous ancient civilization.
