The Michelin Guide's review
This steepled Georgian brick building (1756), constructed as the Pennsylvania State House, features on UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites. In May 1775, delegates of the Second Continental Congress met here to determine the colonies' response to increasing hostility from the British. The following year, the Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in this very hall, which was also the site of the adoption of the Articles of Confederation in 1781 and the ratification of the US Constitution in 1787.
