The Michelin Guide's review
Phang Nga is one of the most glorious bays in Thailand, and perhaps the whole of Southeast Asia. Now a national park, this delightful expanse of turquoise water is a magnificent example of a karst landscape, extending across an area of 400km2. Its shoreline, overrun by mangroves, overlooks an incredible marine landscape: forty or so small islands and limestone pitons eroded into extraordinary shapes emerging from the sea like an armada of rocks. Slalom between these rock formations by outboard canoe, discovering underground caves and galleries home to wall paintings and concretions.
