The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1152 of white stone in a spare style featuring a single dome, it is the signature piece of the town of Pereslavl-Zalesski, one of the rare buildings from the pre-Mongol period. It is the burial place of the son and nephew of Alexander Nevsky and contains a 19C marble iconostasis. A passage to the southeast connected it to the prince's palace.
