The Michelin Guide's review
This lighthouse was built in 1897 thanks to a bequest by the daughter of Marshal Davout, Prince of Eckmühl. 290 steps lead to the balcony, which commands a sweeping view over Audierne bay, finishing at the Raz headland and isle of Sein lighthouse, Concarneau coastline, Beg-Meil and the Glénan archipelago. The older lighthouse (1835) stands nearby. It is now a landmark and home to an exhibition devoted to the history of lighthouses.
