  The Michelin Guide's review
From the southwest to the northeast of Pécs lie the hills and forests of the Mecsek Mountains, which form a buffer against the north winds. Their highest point is only 682m, but the contrast between the depression of Pécs and this rocky mass is such that it certainly looks like a fully fledged mountain. The area offers lovely walks and is perfect for anyone seeking peace and nature. At times, crossing the forest is like walking through a tunnel of greenery.
