The Michelin Guide's review
Pasabag, also known as the Valley of the Monks, is the emblem of Cappadocia. This valley is dotted with beautiful hoodoos (cones over 10m high, crowned with flat caps, or cylindrical rocks topped with pointed hats). This extraordinary landscape attracts swarms of souvenir sellers and busloads of tourists. No matter - follow the path through the vineyards and the fruit orchards to visit the hermitages hollowed out of the rocks by monks in the 11-13C.
