The Michelin Guide's review
This bridge was the first in France to be made of cast iron. Reserved exclusively for pedestrians since it was built in 1803, it is a pleasant place to linger, with benches offering superb views in both directions along the river, taking in the Louvre and Pont du Carrousel downstream and the Pont Neuf and buildings on the Île de la Cité, including Notre-Dame, upstream. The bridge is popular with young musicians and artists.
