The Michelin Guide's review
Created in 1530 by François I at the instigation of Guillaume Budé, this college had over twenty academic chairs by the end of the Ancien Régime, representing every field of knowledge. Extended on several occasions, it is nowadays a prestigious institution which acts as a centre of research and a place of learning for the general public, where lectures are given by famous names, and where the inaugural lessons are important cultural events in their own right.
