The Michelin Guide's review
The Shekhawati region is renowned for its frescoes painted with natural pigments, such as saffron, urine, soot, lime and clay. Parasarampura, a hamlet situated about 20km from Nawalgarh, is no exception. The dome of the Sardul Singh cenotaph is covered with paintings which are among the oldest in the region and which illustrate scenes from Hindu mythology. Note the rao of Shekhawati, Sardul Singh, dividing his kingdom among his five sons.
