The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1872 by order of Dom Pedro II, Farol das Conchas, a lighthouse built to guide ships in Paranaguá Bay, stands on a hill, from where there is a panoramic view over the whole island, the bay and the continent. The best time to climb the hill is at sunrise in order to avoid the hottest time of the day and enjoy the light at its loveliest.
