Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts and Crafts
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Housed in three distinctive circular buildings joined by boardwalks, and designed to resemble a cluster of Inuit tents, this inviting complex has an international reputation for its woven blankets, prints and tapestries. The complex consists of a retail craft outlet, a tapestry studio, and a print shop for Inuit artists. The centre was created in the wake of a declining hunting- and fishing-based economy in the 1970s.
