The Michelin Guide's review
Built by Henry Morrison Flagler (1830-1913), this magnificent mansion dating back to 1901 (Carrère and Hastings) is now a museum, accessed by a landscaped walkway. Inside, Marble Hall, an imitation of a Roman villa's atrium, dazzles the eye with its masterful ceiling mural by Italian artist Benvenuti. The ornate ballroom was used to entertain the high society. Upstairs, visitors can see the Rococo-style master suite, which is done out in yellow damask watered silk, and a dozen guest suites.
