The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the Gothic Revival style in 1925, the splendid Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea was designed by Hiss and Weeks of New York. It features a prominent bell tower and lavish ornamentation, including sculptures of the four Evangelists standing in niches in the main entrance. A cloister to the left of the entrance leads to an inner courtyard and then to the Cluett Memorial Gardens, formal gardens with fountains, a gazebo and cruciform flowerbeds.
