The Michelin Guide's review
Located in what was once a Franciscan monastery, this gallery presents a major collection of 19C-20C Italian and Sicilian art. Sicilian artists of the 19C are represented, most notably Francesco Lojacono (Studio di Palude) and Antonino Leto, whose work, Case Bianche is particularly touching. Pieces from the 20C include works by Renato Guttuso, Mario Rutelli and Giovanni Boldini. The gallery's most famous work is Il Peccato by German artist Franz von Stuck (1863-1928).
