The Michelin Guide's review
At the junction of Via Vittorio Emanuale and Via Maqueda, this square owes its beauty to the 17C palaces that surround it, their concave façades richly decorated with Doric, Ionic and Corinthian orders, echoing the superb fountains that represent the four seasons. Recesses at the intermediary level house statues of the Spanish viceroys, seemingly protected by the statues of Palermo's four patron saints (on the upper level): Cristina, Ninfa, Olivia and Agata.
