From the Visitor Center, the panoramic view offers a vertiginous contrast between the tranquillity of the extensive deep-blue lake and the 708ft concrete barrier which regulates the water flow to the Glen Canyon below. As part of your visit to the dam, you will discover the inner workings of this concrete giant built between 1956 and 1963. The tour starts with the ridge of the dam before descending 528ft to the generator and transformer room below.
