Europe Avenue
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This long avenue, linking the upper town to the fortress and crossed by a tramline, became many a historicist architect's playground at the beginning of the 20C, when rich Osijek merchants granted them the freedom and funds to indulge their creative talents by designing lavish mansions. Today, these edifices have been transformed into offices and, despite the scars of the last conflict (on the right side of the avenue), they remain impressive.
