The Michelin Guide's review
On 10 June 1944, four days after the D-Day landings, an entire village of 642 people was wiped out by the elite German troops of the Das Reich division. Burnt wall sections, a memorial and a cemetery where the remains of the victims of Nazism lie are a thought-provoking tribute. The Centre de la Mémoire is a testament for future generations of human barbarity, symbolising destruction but also the spirit of resistance.
