Republic Street

The Michelin Guide's review
Shops and cafes bring the pedestrianised Republic Street to life. Beyond the old bazaar and church of St. Anne are Secessionist palaces with fine façades. Onion domes, ornate windows, carved pediments and floral motifs embellish the façades, notably those of the Moskovits and Apollo palaces sited at the corner of Mihai Eminescu Street. The latter, designed in 1905 by Kálmán Rimanóczy Jr, to whom we also owe the Town Hall, is now open to the public.
