Petofi Sándor Park
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This pleasant triangular park is of interest on account of its Baroque Catholic church. Built in 1752 to plans by Vienna-based Italian architect Giovanni Battista Ricca (1691-1757), the concave-fronted building is Romania's largest Baroque church. It was built in 1780 by Austrian Franz Anton Hillebrandt (1719-1797), who was also responsible for the huge bishop's palace, constructed between 1762 and 1777 and known for its 365 windows.
