The Michelin Guide's review
From Ondarroa to the Barbadun Estuary, the Biscay coast is a succession of beaches and ports set against a backdrop of steep green cliffs. Wilder than the neighbouring Guipúzcoa coast, and less impinged upon by industry and tourism, it has retained some real corners of paradise, not least the Urdaibai Reserve. Travelling along this coastline, visitors will also encounter places redolent of major historical events and heavily symbolic, such as Guernica and Bilbao.
