The Michelin Guide's review
The Heraion (Temple of Hera) was built c 600 BC. Its tufa columns with pronounced fluting offer a fine example of the evolution of the Doric style. Inside, around the effigies of Hera, there are many statues, including the illustrious Hermes by Praxiteles (on display in the site's museum).
