Nathan G. Moore House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
With its steep roofline, Sullivanesque balustrade fence and Tudor Revival style, the 1895 Moore House presents a dramatic contrast to Wright's later horizontal compositions. The house was a remodeling of an earlier structure that all but disappeared under the busy hand of Wright. The architect rebuilt the home after a 1922 fire, providing Oak Park visitors a rare glimpse of his 1920s experimentation with Japanese themes in encrusted ornament.
