The Michelin Guide's review
Prince Edward Island is renowned for its potatoes, hence this museum, where visitors can learn how Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake and even Thomas Jefferson, promoted the popularity of the versatile tuber, first cultivated in Peru some 10,000 years ago. An array of farming tools and an interactive "Potato Hall of Fame" acquaint visitors with the characteristics of this vegetable. Spuds feature prominently on the canteen menu: potato maple-butter tarts, potato fudge and even a potato hot dog!
