The Michelin Guide's review
For safety reasons, tourists are advised to avoid this region. Totally sheltered from the winds, this gorge created by a river that used to run through here is named after the coloured strata ranging from sand colour to the bluish and green hues that form a natural decoration. This curious geological phenomenon is a superb destination for a walk (competent walkers should allow approximately 2hr). There is an impressive 700m segment that may prove difficult for the inexperienced.
