The Michelin Guide's review
This park, at the eastern end of Île Perrot, offers sweeping views over Lake Saint-Louis and Montreal. An interpretation centre features displays and films tracing the history of the estate, and describing the seigneurial system and traditional 18C farming methods. Trottier's stone windmill (c. 1705) is in full working order. The stone walls are pierced with slits, as the mill also served as a fortification in the 18C. The miller's house (1785) provides an insight into traditional family life in New France.
