This square is dominated by the elegant curving façade of the church, Chiesa di San Domenico by Gagliardi. Its vigorous lines are accentuated by the upswept columns, which bring together the two orders separated by a high cornice. The theatre opposite, Teatro Comunale Vittorio Emanuele, seems understated in comparison. In the purest neo-Classical style, it has a fine Italianate auditorium.
