Baroque Noto
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The hub of the Baroque centre is Corso Vittorio Emanuele III, which widens into three squares bordered by huge Baroque churches. On Piazza Immacolata stands San Francesco all'Immacolata, the cathedral (the cupola and much of the central nave collapsed in 1996) stands on the delightful Piazza Municipio, while San Domenico overlooks Piazza XVI Maggio. Via Corrado Nicolaci and its palaces, including Palazzo Nicolaci di Villadorata with its exuberantly carved balconies, is also not to be missed.
