Grande chute à l'Ours
Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
A 3km/1.8mi footpath leads alongside the Ashuapmushuan river rapids, which extend over a distance of more than 1 500m/4 920ft. The falls were named by the early explorers, whose progress they hindered. Among these was Jesuit father Charles Albanel, the first Frenchman to reach the shores of James Bay, in 1672. The Arboretum trail (3km/1.8mi) provides information on the flora and fauna along the footpath.
