The Michelin Guide's review
The Benedictine monastery of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil, founded in the 10C, is now home to a luxurious parador. It stands alone on a massive rocky outcrop, framed by granite hills through which the Sil has cut deep gorges, amidst unspoiled countryside. In addition to the church's Romanesque east wall, there are three cloisters, almost entirely dating from the 16C, one of which has retained its Romanesque galleries, topped by elegant low arcades.
