The Michelin Guide's review
It was here in Mediana that Constantine the Great had his summer residence built in 317-330: a magnificent Roman villa, where the agreement dividing the Roman Empire into two parts (western and eastern) was ratified in 364. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards, the Goths destroyed the palace, which never regained its former splendour. This archaeological site remains of exceptional importance and you can admire preserved mosaics, including the Medusa mosaic.
