 Religious monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Once you are through the Yomei-mon Gate, the sacred storehouse (Shinyosha) appears in the new courtyard. It houses the three mikoshi, portable shrines (reduced from 1 120kg to 800kg in 1636, to help today's 55 carriers) dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Minamoto no Yoritomo. When the building is open, you can see the most beautiful Buddhist angels in Japan dancing on the ceiling.
