The Michelin Guide's review
This 5km hiking trail crosses the 400ha of the Senjogahara Marshland and connects the Yudaki Waterfall to the Akanuma Nature House. At an elevation of about 1 400m, it follows the peaceful Yugawa River. Through the diversity of its alpine fauna and flora, it will delight nature lovers, especially ornithologists. A boardwalk a metre above the ground allows you to observe the wetland and the magnificent scenery of cotton plants, Japanese meadowsweet, azaleas... with, in the background, the mountain covered with conifers. In winter, snow covers the entire area of this exceptional biotope.
