The Michelin Guide's review
Built by the Americans after the Second World War, this large wooden boat house on the north shore of Lake Chuzenji served as a hangar and launch pad for dinghies. Today, its proximity to Ryuzu Waterfall, the end destination of hikes through the Senjogahara Plateau, makes it the ideal place for a break. On the first floor, there are visuals and trophies pertaining to trout fishing, and a collection of old boats; on the second floor there is a tearoom and a lovely panoramic terrace accessible for picnics.
