Niagara Parkway (northbound), which skirts the river as far as the mouth of Lake Ontario, is rich in views and gardens, and very pleasant for a walk. After the falls, the parkway passes under Rainbow Bridge, through a pleasant residential area. About 1.5 km/less than a mile farther on, at Thompson's Point, you will reach the opposite side with a fine view of the whirlpool.
