The Michelin Guide's review
As it crashes down a high cliff halfway between Lakes Erie and Ontario, the Niagara River creates incredible falls, which are among the world's leading tourist attractions. Although not exceptionally high (50m/164ft), it is the sheer volume and force of the water that impress the visitor. The falls can be viewed from the river bank level, from the water level at the bottom of the cataract and from the summit of various towers constructed especially for viewing purposes.
