Facing Strangford Lough and set in magnificent gardens planted with species from all over the world, this residence is the former home of the Stewarts, an eminent Scottish family that moved to Ulster in the 17C. Family portraits adorn the interior, alongside porcelains, sculptures and English and Irish furniture. On site, the Temple of the Winds (18C), modelled on the Tower of the Winds in Athens, was used for festivities and banquets, with servants' accommodation in the basement.
