The Michelin Guide's review
West of Broadway, Greenwich Village is genuinely worthy of its reputation as the historic capital of New York's bohemian beatnik community. A country village in the 19C, Greenwich's narrow, winding streets are still steeped in small-town charm. It is at its best in springtime, when the white blossom of its ornamental plum trees carpets the front stoops, when the tables of the bars and cafés spill over onto the sidewalks and when the bright sunshine catches Washington Square.
