The Michelin Guide's review
The Immigration Museum chronicles the different steps involved in the approval or rejection process of "candidates" for admittance to the New World. During your visit you go through the various rooms: luggage room, large hall, dormitories, medical inspection room. A film describes the origins and hopes of arrivals. Outside, the 195m-long American Immigrant Wall of Honor bears the names of over 600 000 people who transited by Ellis Island.
