The Michelin Guide's review
Back in the days when New Haven was a Puritan colony, the town was laid out as a large square subdivided into nine smaller squares. The central square, or Green, was set aside for use by the entire community as pastureland, a parade ground and a burial ground, and has been the heart of the downtown district since 1638. The upper green is home to three early-19C churches.
