The Michelin Guide's review
This gallery was founded in 1832 with a gift of around 100 works of art from American artist John Trumbull (1756-1843). Today Yale University Art Gallery is home to some 200 000 works of art from antiquity to the present day, including a particularly fine collection of American decorative arts from the federal and colonial periods. The building comprises two interconnected structures - one built in the Gothic style in 1928 and the other added in 1953 and designed by Louis Kahn.
