The Michelin Guide's review
With its narrow streets punctuated by lancet arches and lined by Venetian houses, Naxos old town us a maze of streets with their charm unspoilt. Presided over by the catholic cathedral, it is one of the most handsome medieval sites in the Cyclades. Beyond the vaulted passages is the old market, where a small folklore museum showing the island's traditional activities is tucked away. The Archaeological Museum, meanwhile, is housed in a 17C Jesuits school.
