The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in 1947, this 6,400-acre nature reserve opens an ideal window into the extraordinary ecosystem of the area. Housed in the replica of a fort dating from the Seminole wars, the visitor's center displays the park's flora and fauna. The woodland Royal Palm Hammock Trail (0.9mi) provides an excellent insight into the park's resources. For a longer trail, take the Old Marco Road (3.5mi). Guided canoe tours available for rent.
