 Well worth the diversions
Historical and archaeological site
  The Michelin Guide's review
Of this city founded in the 7C only a few ruined temples remain, grouped on the same platform and hidden by dense vegetation amid a relaxing landscape of gently rolling hills. Dedicated to Vishnu, these temples are thought to date from the 10C. The two main buildings are known as "Sas-Bahu", or the "mother-in-law" (sas) and "daughter-in-law" (bahu) temples, in reference to the two queens responsible for their construction. The temples have retained some elegant sculptures which create a charming world of gods, dancers, mithuna (intertwined lovers), musicians and animals.
