The Michelin Guide's review
Ronquières is known for its beautiful view of the Charleroi Canal, which, close to this pleasant village, is equipped with a remarkable engineering structure. Built in 1968, the 1 432m-long Ronquières sloping lock allows boats to easily negotiate the 67.58m difference in level of the canal. Upstream, a 300m canal bridge and a 150m-high tower are also part of the facilities.
