The Michelin Guide's review
The Lion Gate, which was the main entrance to the acropolis, was built into the wall in the 13C BC. It is made up of four massive stone blocks, including a monolithic relieving triangle, above a lintel sculpted with two headless lionesses on their hind legs around a column. The structure - unusual for a civilisation that set little store by monumental sculpture - remains the sole decorative element of this plain complex.
